‘My agent takes care of it’- Emre Can responds directly to Juventus interest

Emre Can is admittedly flattered by speculation linking him to a move to Juventus.

The German slipped onto the radar of the Italian giants earlier this year when it was revealed that negotiations over a new contract at Liverpool had stalled.

With Can now in the final year of his current deal, the club faces the risk of losing him on a free next summer.

“It’s always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club, but currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool,” Can told German publication Kicker.

“My agent takes care of the rest.”

“The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must respect other big clubs and leagues.”

“You never know what will happen. And I don’t know what Jurgen Klopp plans.”

Reds are growing to be understandably worried about the prospect of Can being allowed to leave, with the midfielder having emerged as a key figure under Klopp.

Despite the delayed talks, the Liverpool manager himself has seemingly adopted a relaxed approach towards the German’s situation at the club.

The latest dispute is understood to surround Can’s wish for a release clause to be inserted into any extension he is signing, following up a time-consuming disagreement over wages towards the beginning of the year.

Rumours are already circulating that Juventus will look to make contact with Can’s camp when the January transfer window opens, in aid of striking some kind of agreement in principle.

The sooner Liverpool reach an arrangement with the midfielder, the better.
