‘If we’re all being honest…’- LFC legend nails it with Oxlade-Chamberlain advice

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain must completely refresh his career in order to rediscover his top form.

The midfielder has endured a tough start to life at Anfield, but lifted some weight from his own shoulders in midweek with a goal in the 7-0 Champions League win over NK Maribor.

Though the England star is yet to shake off the stuttering form from the latter stages of his time at Arsenal, Fowler believes Liverpool is the place for him to finally kick on.

“Look he’s had a bit of a tough start if we’re all being honest,” Fowler told Goal.

“He’s obviously a good player, he’s played for a good Arsenal team and he’s playing for good Liverpool team now.”

“But I think he looks a real confidence player.”

“I think he needs to go back to basics that got him to the level he was at and once that confidence grows, I think we’ll see a much better Oxlade-Chamberlain.”

“I think playing under Jurgen Klopp, he will get that confidence out of him.”

A special Carpool Karaoke with Daniel Sturridge, Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne may have been nothing more than light entertainment, but it proved to be a refreshing insight into how quickly the former Arsenal man has settled in new surroundings.

The form might not have arrived just as quickly, but he is certainly comfortable and focused on life with the Reds.

His move to Liverpool marked an entirely fresh beginning, which is why a tentative start should have been expected.

Jurgen Klopp is the perfect man to unlock the undeniable natural talent that Oxlade-Chamberlain has been striving to demonstrate for far too long.

Give it time, Reds. It won’t take long before his £40million price-tag is justified.
