Former Liverpool player Didi Hamann has taken to Twitter to criticise left-back Alberto Moreno following Tuesday night’s horror-show.
In 15 minutes of the second-half, the Spaniard had given away a silly free-kick, left his man (who scored) at the near post, then conceded a ridiculous penalty which was also converted.
He was dragged off by Jurgen Klopp, with Liverpool eventually letting a three goal lead slip to draw 3-3 against Moreno’s former club Sevilla.
Moreno has been excellent this season until two days ago, but Hamann disagrees – suggesting he’s actually been rubbish and simply proved it again this week.
That’s what we led to believe. Very poor since he came, plays ok for 8 weeks and all of a sudden we think we got Roberto Carlos https://t.co/uI3CvS8NPj

He should be more worried what the fans of his current club think about him https://t.co/nqYHisL52i

While we can appreciate the anger directed towards him for Tuesday’s capitulation, to claim he’s not enjoyed a monumental improvement this term is simply unfair.
Moreno’s been one of our most consistent performers, but the mistakes against Sevilla sadly suggest that on the biggest stage, he lets emotion clouds his decision making.
The next time we’re away in Europe in a hostile atmosphere, we hope he’s on the bench.
