‘Let’s see what happens…’ German coy on chances of signing terms for Liverpool

Emre Can hasn’t ruled out extending his terms with Liverpool, though we’d be very surprised if he did.

As we all know, the German’s contract runs out at the end of this season and in one months’ time, he’ll be legally allowed to pen terms with any foreign club.

The grapevine, and our own sources, suggest he’s all but agreed to move to Juventus, but the player is remaining tight-lipped.

“Of course, I talk to Liverpool. Let’s see what happens,” he told German outlet Spox.

“My focus is on Liverpool only right now, and my agent takes care of the rest.”

His insinuation that he’s ‘focused on Liverpool now’ seems like a very short-term commitment, to us.

The midfielder is being used as a rotation player by Jurgen Klopp as well, which is another hint that the boss is preparing for life without the 23-year-old.

Juve are a very good side, but we’d suggest they’re about to enter a downward curve. Paul Pogba has left, Leonardo Bonucci has left, Gianluigi Buffon is retiring and Paulo Dybala is eyeing pastures new.

Liverpool on the other hand have arguably the most exciting bunch of attackers anywhere in Europe, bar perhaps PSG and Barcelona.

If Can wants to leave, fine – that’s his prerogative. But we have a feeling he’ll end up regretting it in the same manner Michael Owen did in 2004.
