It’s no surprise really, but it’s still not especially nice to read about…

Egypt manager Hector Cuper has told the media and Mo Salah’s fans that Real Madrid are 100% considering buying the 25-year-old.

“I’ve received confirmed news revealing Real Madrid’s interest in Salah,” Cuper told ON Sport TV in Egypt, translated by the Daily Star.

“But let’s not rush things.

“To me, he is in an amazing position right now.”

The flying winger has notched 17 goals so far us this season and is widely regarded as the best summer signing by some distance, especially considering he cost just £36m – £15m less than Everton paid for Gylfi Sigurdsson!

He’s an automatic starter in Jurgen Klopp’s best side and Liverpool naturally have no intention of selling.

However, as we’ve found out time and time again, heads get turned by the Spanish giants. Barcelona have consistently been able to attract our best talent and Real Madrid would probably have similar pulling power.

Like with Coutinho though, Salah is contracted to Liverpool for many years and we’re not in a position where we need to sell.

We’d like to offer him a massive pay rise really, and perhaps stick a few more years on the deal, too.
