Klopp predicts Liverpool’s Champions League Last 16 opponent

Posted by

By battering Sevilla into submission, Liverpool have won our Champions League Group, which means we will face on the teams who finished second in the Last 16.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds demolished the Russians, thanks to a Coutinho hat-trick, a Sadio Mane brace and a goal apiece from the other forwards Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The possible opponents are: Basel, Bayern, Juve, Shakhtar, Porto and Real Madrid.

According to Liverpool’s manager, he normally draws the side who’ve won the competition in three of the past four years…

“I don’t mind too much who we get – usually I always get Real Madrid so we will see!” he said after the game, reported in the Express

“We have no preferred opponents, it will be really nice after a long time. I love this kind of news.”

After seeing what Liverpool did to Spartak tonight, we don’t mind who we draw. If Spurs can beat Real Madrid then so can Liverpool, while we’d back ourselves against the other five teams too.

Obviously we don’t know what kind of form or fitness we’ll be in come February, but all we can do now is look forward to it.

Klopp’s bringing the good times to Anfield.
