Coutinho was given the armband for tonight’s clash v Spartak Moscow, and scored within four minutes of the must-win game!
The Russians fouled Mo Salah in the box, when nothing was on, and our no.10 stepped up, with his Liverpool team-mates Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and James Milner having missed our past three spot-kicks.
As cool as you like, Coutinho waited until the keeper moved, with his head up the entire time, before rolling the ball into the bottom right-corner. It’s the exact technique Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is famous for, and one used by his countryman Neymar, too.
Perhaps he’s just earned the position of Liverpool’s full-time penalty taker.
