James Milner has played just 252 minutes of the Champions League so far this season – yet he’s the outright leader in terms of assists on five – two more than anybody else in the competition!
Last night against Spartak Moscow, Milner came on in the 45th minute due to Alberto Moreno’s ankle injury, and showed he can offer a genuine offensive presence up the left flank, although he prefers a central role.
Ohhh that is special! 🙌

In the second-half, he registered three assists, one of which was an absolute peach for Sadio Mane’s volley at the back post.
Neymar, Alberto Moreno, Roberto Firmino, Kevin De Bruyne and Dries Mertens are on three assists, having started all six games – while Milner has started just two of Liverpool’s fixtures.
What a statistic!
