LFC will sell midfielder in January for shockingly low price – Report

We’d be amazed if this story was true…

Italian outlet Calciomercato are claiming that Liverpool will allow Emre Can to join Juventus six months early – providing the Serie A giants stump up €10m.

That’s just £8.8m at the current exchange rate.

The German midfielder’s contract is up at the end of the season, meaning Can is likely to leave on a Bosman in summer 2018, but for just £9m-odd, there’s no really no point us losing the 23-year-old halfway through a Champions League run.

Emre Can’s greatest goal for Liverpool, v Watford last term.

Can’s enjoying a good campaign and has been our best midfielder, despite the fact he’s running down his contract.

We’d love him to stay, but are resigned to the fact he’s likely already agreed terms with Juve in private.

We’re not really sure why Can wants to depart… He’s a first-team regular for a brilliant German manager at a Champions League side. Liverpool will pay big wages and have a fanbase who’d support him.

But it’s the player’s prerogative – we should just use him while we can.
