Liverpool leading race to sign West Ham midfielder

Liverpool are eyeing up the opportunity to bolster their highly-rated pool of young prospects with the addition of West Ham’s Domingos Quina.

Quina has earned four first-team substitute appearances for the Hammers so far this season as a reward for his impressive progress in the club’s youth setup.

West Ham will, however, listen to offers for the 18-year-old when the January transfer window opens, according to the Daily Mail.

Liverpool are believed to be leading the chase for Quina, with the Reds already boasting two of the standout U18 and U23 teams in the country.

Having been tipped as a future Portugal regular and asserted himself as one of the brightest talents in English youth football, Quina has already caught the attention of West Ham fans and would undoubtedly be the cause of disappointment were he to depart so early in his career.

With David Moyes’ men fighting to revive their season, further senior opportunities for the teenager look unlikely at this stage.

That said, that would be the case no matter what club he is plying his trade at, with Liverpool’s prolific Harry Wilson serving as proof.

The Welshman has carried the form from his 28-goal 2016/2017 season into the current campaign, but so far been unable to break into Jurgen Klopp’s senior team.
