Mo Salah on ‘worst’ teammate to understand: ‘He doesn’t talk normally’

Mo Salah is settling into life on Merseyside just fine…

The Egyptian has 20 goals so far, making him the first player to reach that tally before Christmas since Ian Rush 30 years ago.

He’s happy, fit and without question the signing of the season – perhaps anywhere across Europe.

But he struggles to communicate with underused team-mate Jon Flanagan, a Scouser!

“I understand Scouse – I think!” he told Liverpool’s official website, liverpoolfc.com. “But it’s very difficult, very difficult.

“The accent is so hard to understand. Flanno’s accent is the worst one. I cannot understand anything from him. The way he is talking is like he’s not talking normally.”

Easy Mo… You’ll end up with a semi-Egyptian/Scouse twang one day yourself – like Didi Hamann’s odd brand of German Scouse, or Peter Schmeichel’s Mancunian Danish!

While Salah is an automatic starter, Flanno is very much down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order.

The England international is approaching his 25th birthday, but hasn’t played a minute in the Premier League this season. Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nathaniel Clyne are ahead of him in the right-back queue, with Alberto Moreno, Andrew Robertson and James Milner preferred at left-back.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Flanagan left us in upcoming windows, as he needs to find a club that can offer him first-team football.
