Oxlade-Chamberlain sends Arsenal a warning ahead of Emirates battle

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was on the wrong end of a 4-0 thumping earlier this season, when Liverpool battered Arsenal at Anfield, but on Friday, he’ll hopefully be on the right side!

We purchased the Englishman for £35m-odd on transfer deadline day, and despite a slow start, he’s very much coming into his own now – adapting to Jurgen Klopp’s methods and demands.

Ox can expect an angry reception from the Arsenal faithful, but he’s promising a big performance at the Emirates just before Christmas.

“It will be a special occasion for me, full of emotion I’m sure,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told the Metro. “We’re in good form and we’ll be going there full of confidence and looking for three points.

“I feel like I’m settled in now and I’m learning the ropes and my roles and responsibilities. ‘That’s always the thing that’s hard to adapt to. Once you get comfortable with that, you can start to relax more.

“I’ve been doing better and it has been coming, but there’s definitely more to come from me. And I’ll be doing everything I can to bring that out.”

We’re not sure whether Ox will start against his former manager Arsene Wenger…

Sadio Mane started on the bench against Bournemouth at the weekend, but has a brilliant record against the Gunners – scoring a famous goal on his full Liverpool debut and jumping on Klopp’s back in celebration.

Ox though put in his best performance for Liverpool on Sunday, meaning Klopp has a decision to make, assuming that Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Coutinho are guaranteed starters.
