Arsenal inadvertently named their XI v Liverpool last night…

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger took a risk and it paid off the in Carabao Cup last night.

His Gunners beat West Ham 1-0 thanks to a goal from Danny Welbeck, but with a huge match against Liverpool to play on Friday night, we don’t think any of the starters will get the nod again.

Wenger decided to go with Sead Kolasinac, Olivier Giroud and David Ospina for example, which provides a real hint as to the players who’ll start at the Emirates in two days’ time.

Here’s the XI that beat West Ham…

Suggesting that this will be the XI to face LFC: Cech; Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal; Xhaka, Wilshere; Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez; Lacazette

It’s actually a very strong side, with the only regular starter unavailable Aaron Ramsey.

Shkodran Mustafi has a knock but should start.

Liverpool’s sides have been almost impossible to predict in recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp rotating heavily, but for such a crunch clash, and a decent amount of rest since the Bournemouth win, we reckon the boss will go something like this: Klopp; Gomez, Lovren, Klavan, Robertson; Henderson, Coutinho, Can; Mane, Salah, Firmino

This would be harsh on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain considering his excellent weekend outing, but it would be too offensive away at Arsenal to deploy both he and Coutinho in a three-man midfield.
