Paul Merson has named his ‘Team of the Year’ so far to Sky Sports and decided to leave Mo Salah out of it…
Here’s the players he chose instead. Two Burnley men make the cut, but the Premier League’s top scorer does not.
Unbelievable…. Paul Merson leaves 14-goal Mo Salah out of TOTY so far.. pic.twitter.com/cYykICDd99

Not only does Salah have more goals than Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane, but he’s a new signing, doesn’t take set-pieces, starts from the right and has contributed all his efforts from open play.
Every other pundit, such as Phil Thompson, Matt Le Tissier and Charlie Nicholas have included the Egyptian, but it’s Merson’s XI which has got people talking…
In fairness, we can’t argue too much with the rest of it, but to leave Salah out on the basis of what’s happened so far is mindless.
The only player who can really rival him for the Player of the Year gong so far is Kevin de Bruyne, whose stats are actually worse than Coutinho’s so far anyway.
