Salah rubbishes suggestion Sadio Mane is jealous of him

With Mo Salah breaking scoring records on a weekly basis, and Sadio Mane (for the first time in his career) enduring a comparatively stale patch, there’s been bizarre suggestions that the Senegalese is jealous of his new team-mate.

It primarily was born from Mane’s mistake in the Merseyside Derby, where he failed to square the ball to his partner and went for goal himself.

But this was an isolated incident and the fact of the matter is Mane has actually assisted four of Salah’s goals this season – all with exceptional, unselfish play.

The Egyptian has spoken about their great relationship, praising the former Southampton star and suggesting he’s his best friend at Liverpool.

“We are friends!” Salah told Sky Sports. “We are very close to each other. Maybe he is my closest friend here in the team. We are friends, we like each other, he’s a great guy and a fantastic player who is very fast with quality and confidence.”

What’s brilliant about Liverpool’s ‘Fab Four’ is that none of them are selfish players, actually.

When they’re in the final third, their heads are up, happy to pass to one of the others and let them get the goal is they’re in a better position.

We’ve seen this time and time again this term, when slick passes between two or three of the four lead to clinical team goals.

There’s absolutely nothing to worry about.
