Liverpool likely XI v Everton very strong; with Van Dijk debut

Liverpool take on Everton this evening in the FA Cup Merseyside Derby clash at Anfield.

We’re without our two best players Mo Salah and Coutinho who have injuries, but thankfully can call upon the world’s most expensive defender Virgil van Dijk for the first time.

Jurgen Klopp has already declared he’ll play Loris Karius in goal and with nine days before the Manchester City clash, we can see nothing but a full strength selection.

That means Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson at fullback, with Joel Matip returning to the side to partner van Dijk at centre-back.

In midfield, with Jordan Henderson still crocked, Emre Can will anchor the side, allowing two of James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana to take up the positions either side. We think Milner and Wijnaldum will get the nod as Lallana continues to be eased back in.

Up top, Sadio Mane has been flown back from Africa in time to participate, meaning he could start on the left, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right and Roberto Firmino central.
