LFC target is £31m cheaper than he was… but club must act now…

Monaco will consider selling Thomas Lemar for around £61m, despite accepting a £92m offer for the starlet in the summer from Arsenal.

That’s according to RMC journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi (translated by Get French Football), who claims the Gunners are currently leading the race for the Liverpool target’s signature.

Lemar was outrageously good last term, helping Leonardo Jardim’s side win Ligue 1 ahead of PSG, but with Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakoyoko and Bernardo Silva departing, they’ve not been the same force in 2017/18.

Despite selling Coutinho for a whopping fee, Liverpool haven’t openly beelined for Lemar this January. We had a bid rejected for him five months ago, but at the moment we’re definitely just in ‘monitoring mood’.

For £92m, we’d have avoided Lemar, but £61m seems fair in this current market.

He plays on the left or centrally, the exact role Coutinho did – so he’d be a natural replacement.
