Karius – 5

Should have done better for the first goal. Can’t get beaten on the near post there.

Gomez – 6

Also at fault for first goal, but was up against one of the best players in the league, Leroy Sane.

Robertson – 9

Puts absolutely everything into every performance. Has made the left-back spot his own.

Matip – 8

Strong performance from the Cameroonian, up against the best attack in the league (bar ours).

Lovren – 6

Should have done better for Gundogan’s goal, but held on at the end.

Can – 7

Started superbly, and didn’t look for one minute like a player who’s going to leave on a free transfer.

Wijnaldum – 8

So dynamic and made plenty of interceptions – one of his best performances in Red.

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8

A brilliant first goal which characterised his best traits; power, direct running and speed.

Mane – 8

Another left foot rocket from Sadio! The fact he’s developing a habit of picking out the top corner with his wrong foot is brilliant.

Salah – 8

Not as involved as he usually is, but when his moment came, Salah struck, bagging from 40 yards when Ederson was out of his goal.

Firmino – 9

An exceptional goal capped a fantastic all-round performance. That’s 17 goals for the season for Bobby.
