LFC rocked as attacker out for season with ligament damage

This is a real shame…

Rhian Brewster’s been superb for Liverpool U23s this season and we’ve been mightily impressed with his development – but sadly – the teenager has suffered ankle ligament damage, according to the Echo.

Brewster was stretchered off as the U23s played Manchester City on Friday night, having fell awkwardly after going up for a header.

Thankfully he’s only 17 and there’s no rush for him to recover, but it’s happened at a disappointing point in his development.

Now, he can focus on getting fit again and will hopefully be ready to train with Jurgen Klopp’s first-team in the summer.

Brewster, along with Ben Woodburn, is perhaps our most exciting youth prospect.

He’s rapid, can finish clinically and is tenacious, too.

Klopp rates both very highly and we hope that at some point the pair are an active part of his first-team plans.

They certainly have the talent to do so.
