Journo throws LFC’s name into monster transfer on podcast

Football fans have increasingly less time for Guillem Balague nowadays…

The Spanish football ‘expert’ gets quite a lot wrong, and certainly changed his tune on the Coutinho to Barcelona stories on a seemingly weekly basis before the transfer eventually took place.

‘I can see him at Liverpool’ – Balague on Spaniard who’s just made big announcement

But during an exclusive interview with Arsenal Fan TV yesterday, Balague appeared to state Liverpool could become involved in the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga.

He doesn’t explicitly name us, but laughs when presenter Robbie Lyle mentions Liverpool’s name and pretends he can no longer hear him…

“Manchester United has to move quickly,” Balague began.

“I’ve heard that unless they sort things out soon, and including Mkhitaryan in the deal, there’s another club willing to take Alexis Sanchez.

“I still think there’s going to be a few twists on this one.”

“Is that Chelsea?” Robbie asked…

“It could be (Chelsea), but it could be somebody else. One of the big ones,” Balague replied.

“Okay, okay. Liverpool?,” Lyle pressed, before Balague laughed.

“Anyway I cannot hear you now!” he said.

Manchester United are the heavy favourites for Sanchez after Manchester City pulled out due to the ridiculous financial demands of the Chilean and his agents.

And despite what Balague’s said, we cannot see him signing for anyone else.

Liverpool are not going to pay a player who’s almost 30 over £300k/week when we don’t pay Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah or Sadio Mane even half that sum.

That is, for us, an absolute fact. Sanchez is a great player, but to us just looks like another attempt from our rivals to buy instant success.

They don’t scare us.
