Swansea’s manager Carlos Carvajal used clever tactics and got lucky, but all in all, his side probably deserved the three points.

In his post-match interview, the Spaniard, who wasn’t in charge over Christmas when we thumped them 5-0, used a clever analogy to explain how his team won.

Carvajal said Liverpool are such a good footballing side that he needed to put us in a horrible, ugly match, not allowing us to press and win the ball high – equivalent to a Formula One car in central London traffic.

It worked, to be fair.
