What happened on Marko Grujic’s Cardiff debut

Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic is spending the second half of this season on loan at Cardiff City, under the tutelage of Neil Warnock!

Liverpool decided it best to spend the 21-year-old somewhere he’d get regular game-time – and under the terms of his loan deal – he has to play at least 14 games from now until the end of the campaign.

Grujic made his debut against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, and the teams drew 0-0.

The youngster started as a holding midfielder, and he made a number of tackles and interceptions in a role which isn’t necessarily natural to him.

His passing was sometimes sloppy, but positionally, he put in a mature outing which was something Jurgen Klopp deemed him incapable of during his first season at Liverpool.

He also had a decent long-range effort which you can see below.

Hopefully, Grujic will remain in the side and develop before reintegrating himself into the squad this summer.

We’ve still got fairly high hopes for him.
