Liverpool lost to Swansea last night, despite fielding our best side and having been well rested from the Manchester City game eight days previous.
And the player who perhaps bore the most of the criticism was Emre Can, the German powerhouse who was given the armband.

“I am a human being…” Klopp explains row with Swansea fan
Coutinho was captain regularly in December despite wanting to leave, with Jurgen Klopp simply making the team’s longest serving player skipper, but Liverpool didn’t lose under the Brazilian…
With Swansea winning 1-0 though, many Reds questioned why a player who’s probably leaving on a Bosman free transfer got the honour of captaining the side.
To be honest, it’s probably a fair reaction.
The captaincy should mean something. We’ve had six different ones over the past few weeks.

I absolutely love Emre Can I think he is a massively important player in our team but last night we needed a Gerrard or a coutinho to break them down and unfortunately we don’t have that. I hope keïta will be as good as he is in Germany because his talent is what we need #LFC

Emre Can being named #LFC Captain last nite was a bigger joke than Lovren being one last week.

Started too slow & Emre Can should never be captain of our club, he makes everything too slow and wish he'd go off to Italy, which he will suit.Never took chances & reverted to type, losing to bottom of league. Klopp interview before game seemed lethargic and that's way we played
