Injury blow, concern key LFC ace could miss Tottenham clash too

With important games coming up, Liverpool need to bounce back but they may have to attempt to do so without Adam Lallana available for selection.

We’ve had a rough time of it over the past week, losing to Swansea City which ended our impressive unbeaten run before crashing out of the FA Cup at the weekend against West Bromwich Albion.

Similarly to us, Jurgen Klopp will want to see a reaction from the players and that starts against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night before we host Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday hoping to avenge that heavy defeat earlier in the season.

Sadly, Lallana might not be part of the squad for either, as the Liverpool Echo report that while the 29-year-old will miss the midweek encounter, he’s also a doubt for the Spurs showdown, as per Klopp below.

“He’s not ready for Huddersfield,” he said. “Medical department told me no chance for West Brom, no chance for Huddersfield and a chance for Tottenham.”

It’s been a frustrating campaign for Lallana due to injuries and this latest setback is disappointing to say the least as we could certainly do with him being healthy and in good form right now.

It remains to be seen whether or not he can return for the Tottenham game, but in truth, it would probably be wise if we didn’t rush him back and allowed him to get fully fit to avoid the risk of a fresh setback and see him sidelined for even longer.
