Liverpool backed to sign ‘realistic’ Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma would be a nice surprise before this month’s transfer window closes…

But sadly we think there’s more chance of Roy Hodgson taking the reigns again before February!

The Italian goalkeeper has the potential to be one of the game’s all-times greats – having racked up over 90 appearances for AC Milan already – still aged just 18.

Former West Ham stopper Shaka Hislop, now a pundit, reckons the teenager is a ‘realistic’ option for Liverpool, whose goalkeeper issues are well publicised.

“Realistically, (they should go after) Donnarumma,” Hislop told ESPN, cited in the Express.

“I don’t think Liverpool have the right goalkeeper on their books right now.

“As much as they chop and they change, until they go after a talent like Donnarumma, I think they’re going to continue having these issues.”

AC Milan are flush with cash right now, even if their first-team isn’t especially impressive.

Donnarumma is the jewell in their crown and we honestly think there’s no chance we’ll be able to convince them to sell – even with an incredible offer.

Jan Oblak has emerged as a target for PSG [Get France Football], irritatingly, which means we may have to go all out for Roma’s Alisson instead.

The Brazilian is enjoying a phenomenal season and has an affordable €50m release-clause to boot.

Loris Karius has until the end of the season to prove he’s a long-term option, but we really hope an elite replacement is being lined up in case.
