Former Liverpool ace David Thompson has criticised Daniel Sturridge upon the striker’s loan exit to West Brom, indicating the Englishman didn’t give his all to our cause.
The retired midfielder took to Twitter with his thoughts, suggesting that with Coutinho and Sturridge offloaded, he believed another attacker would arrive.

LFC set to do surprise business with Sunderland before Feb 1st
For us, this is a little harsh – especially considering how few chances Sturridge has been given by Jurgen Klopp over the past 18 months.
I'm glad Sturridge has gone can't stand soft players who can't be arsed should have gone 2 seasons ago just milked the club since #lfc

I can see lfc bringing in another striker now they have shifted big wages off the bill unless they are relying on ings and solanke which is risky! #lfc

There are players who would run through brick walls for Lfc and there are players that wouldn't 👊🏻

Lfc have shifted 350k a week off the wage bill surely that means someone is coming in to bolster the squad this window even if it's a loan deal?

Thompson is wrong on us getting a replacement as well.
Despite the fact we obviously need one, it’s not looking likely, with the transfer window closing tomorrow.
It seems crazy, but it looks like we’re going to navigate the Champions League and Premier League with just Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke as backup for Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian has enjoyed a superb campaign (barring his missed penalties) but will need a break at some point.
