Independent: LFC have confirmed interest in last minute Serie A striker deal

Well, this guy would certainly be a ‘mystery man’!

The Independent is covering a link between Liverpool and 19-year-old North Korean forward Han Kwang-Song.

The teenager currently plies his trade for Perugia, for whom he has seven goals in 19 appearances this season on loan fro Cagliari.

However, Cagilari have recalled him today in the hope of offloading him permanently, with Liverpool one of the rumoured clubs interested.

“Before going to Cagliari, Liverpool had an interest in him,” his agent Sandro Stemperini confirmed last week. “Liverpool already knew the player.

“Liverpool were seriously interested. After he moved to Cagliari, already in an Italian club, they did not come back, no. Now I know nothing about it.

“Officially, I do not have a call from Tottenham. There are several offers from Germany…it’s normal that several clubs ask about him.

“Because he is a youngster who is playing very well, who here in Italy is being followed by Juventus, an important club. It’s normal for everyone to talk to me. But officially, from Tottenham, I do not have a call.”

It’s hardly Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but we’d take a last minute Kwang-Son transfer!

We’ve honestly never heard of him, but fans deserve a little bit of deadline day excitement, with the window closing at 11pm this evening.

It would be unfair to expect this incredibly inexperienced forward to replace Daniel Sturridge as backup to Roberto Firmino, but at 19, he might be the next big thing…

It wouldn’t be the first time Klopp discovered an Asian gem of course… Shiniji Kagawa was his find, too!
