10-goal starlet pens mega deal at Liverpool on deadline day

Harry Wilson has been offered further reassurance that he will be granted his opportunity to fight for a future at Liverpool.

The forward fulfilled strong expectations that he would depart on loan this month as he secured a deadline day switch to Championship side Hull City, as reported by Liverpoolfc.com.

That wasn’t before he penned a deserved long-term extension at Anfield, injecting added motivation for him to shine during his time with the Tigers.

Wilson was long overdue his next taste of first team football having enjoyed one-and-a-half standout seasons spearheading Neil Critchley’s Premier League 2 table-topping U23s.

“As soon as I found out that Hull City were interested I really wanted to make the move, so thankfully everything got done fairly quickly,” Wilson told the Hull City club website.

“I feel that it’s the right time for me to make this move, making the step into a first team changing room and into the Championship. It’s a great challenge and one that I’m looking forward to.”

The 20-year-old has been in prolific scoring form this season, registering 10 goals in 12 games to follow up his 28-goal 2016/2017 campaign.

His rise as a prominent figure in the club’s youth setup is yet, however, to reap the benefits of Jurgen Klopp’s interest in handing senior call-ups to Reds prospects.

Wilson can be deemed incredibly unfortunate not to have been given his chance, although there have been no signs to suggest he is at all disheartened by the tough task at hand.

After enduring an injury-stricken spell with Crewe Alexandra during the 2015/2016 season, the Welshman has since re-equipped himself for the step up.

Hull represent an ideal introduction to the physicality of competitive senior football in England and an opportunity for him to make a notable difference in a struggling team.
