Yesterday, he claimed Pep Guardiola had ‘no excuse’ not to name a seventh substitute for Manchester City.

The Spaniard is without a number of first-teamers who are injured following bad tackles, but Gerrard thinks it’s inexcusable not to have selected a youngster – especially given City’s tremendous youth setup.
