The Spaniard is without a number of first-teamers who are injured following bad tackles, but Gerrard thinks it’s inexcusable not to have selected a youngster – especially given City’s tremendous youth setup.

If Klopp ever has a limited number of options, he’ll know better than to overlook a youngster for a spot on the bench!
