A report in Mundo Deportivo suggests Liverpool had an actual €150m bid rejected, but we doubt if this is legitimate.

Firstly, Asensio is best in one of the attacking midfield positions in a front three – but he offers nowhere near the potency of Mo Salah or Sadio Mane. Jurgen Klopp is not going to sanction a €150m bid for a versatile sub, so we really have no time for this story.

Asensio is a special player, but he’s staying at Madrid for a very long while.

In fairness, Liverpool have no reason to be jealous. In the past five Champions League games, we’ve scored 25 goals!
