(Video) Liverpool star reveals he tries to learn from Roberto Firmino

Taking notes from Roberto Firmino seems a logical method to implement for most strikers given the Brazilian’s form of late.

Danny Ings admits he has been doing exactly that this season in aid of forcing himself into first team contention following his recovery from injury.

The striker spent the early months of the season continuing his rehabilitation with Liverpool’s U23s, producing a string of impressive displays and eventually warranting a place in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the second half of the season following the turn of the year.

With Firmino proving difficult to dislodge at the tip of the Reds’ attack, Ings has wisely taken inspiration from the former Hoffenheim man.

Firmino is enjoying his most productive season since landing on Merseyside having already notched 21 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.

His respectable figures have complimented the infectious work ethic that has seen him prosper in Klopp’s physically-demanding approach.

Ings himself has demonstrated signs of being able to offer similar intensity and selfless running, which perhaps represents the foundation of Klopp’s admiration for the Englishman.

Added minutes over the club’s final Premier League run-in would mark an encouraging foundation on which to build on next season for the 25-year-old.
