LFC fans will completely love what Totti has said about us…

Legendary Italian Francesco Totti thinks Liverpool could win the Champions League, thanks to the influence of his former team-mate Mo Salah.

Totti played with Salah for two years in Serie A at the end of his career and witnessed the Egyptian develop into the incredible player we see today.

Since his transfer to Liverpool, Salah has registered 30 goals in all competitions, making a mockery of his £37m transfer fee.

“The level he is playing at at the moment, he is one of the best players in the world — and I think he can and will get even better,” Totti told the Mirror.

“I know him well, he is a good friend and wants to keep improving, to keep getting better as a player.

“He does all the right things, he trains hard, he works hard, he listens to the coaches – that’s why, as good as he is playing at the moment, I think maybe there is even one more level in him.

“He is one of those players who can make the difference in the big games,” added Totti. “That is why Liverpool cannot be ruled out of winning the Champions League.

“There are more complete teams in the competition – but when you have a player like him, you start to believe anything is possible.”

Liverpool battered FC Porto 5-0 in the Last 16 away leg so our progression to the quarters is all but guaranteed.

At this stage, based on the results so far, we’re likely to face one of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Tottenham, Shakhtar, Bayern Munich or Manchester United.

Not all those are guaranteed to have qualified though, and there’s a possibility we’ll draw Roma if they overturn a first-leg defeat to the Ukrainians.

That way, Totti and Salah’s old team-mates can see just how good the 25-year-old has got at close hand!

Whatever happens, we should fear nobody.
