We remember when Coutinho signed his new contract and waxed lyrical about Liverpool, before handing in a transfer request six months later when Barcelona alerted him of their interest.

Why the players on Real Madrid’s summer shortlist along with Mo Salah benefit Liverpool…
We’ve learnt the hard way not to take these kind of comments too literally, but with Mo Salah, you get the feeling he’s being completely genuine.
He’s taking it to a new level by boldly declaring that he wants to win the Premier League – with Liverpool only.
“I came to here to win titles,” the Egyptian told BBC Sport’s Football Focus.
“I can tell the fans we work 100% to try and win something for the club,” he said.
“It’s a long time since the club won the league. It’s my dream to win the Premier League – but I want to win it with this club.
“It’s easy to play with this kind of quality,” he said. “If you look at me now and five years ago, everything has changed both mentally and physically.
“I’m trying to improve myself every day. I always like to put myself under pressure to improve more.
“I give all my life to football, I only think about football. This is what is on my mind all the time.”
Salah has scored 30 goals for Liverpool this season, and is likely to get close to 40 before the campaign is up if he continues in his current vein of form.
The 25-year-old is rapid, skilful and is as good at getting in the right places as any player we’ve ever seen – literally.
His ability to be in the right place at the right time is second to none.
Obviously the likes of Real Madrid will be mighty keen on Salah, but he only arrived on Merseyside last summer and we’re confident he’ll be ours for a significant while longer.
And if he is, then we have a genuine chance of silverware every season.
