Garth Crooks’ TOTW has Mo Salah in weird position, but three other Reds included

Garth Crooks’ BBC Team of the Week is always fun to read, even if it’s purely out of how ridiculous it is!

Today, the pundit released his selection, which included Mo Salah as a right wing-back!

We’re not sure how much defensive contribution he’d offer a team from this role, but it’s nice to see the Egyptian recognised anyway…

Elsewhere, Crooks selected Virgil van Dijk, who was again faultless at the heart of our defence. It’s a shame we gave away a sloppy goal (Emre Can’s fault, really), as van Dijk deserved to be part of a third straight clean-sheet.

Andrew Robertson also got the nod, following a performance against West Ham that summed up his ability both going forward and at the back.

“The quality of his crosses against West Ham would have drained the blood out of vampires,” said Crooks!

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was quiet in the first-half, but terrific in the second – driving through midfield and using his attributes. It’s ‘frightening’ to consider how good he could be, according to Crooks.

Here’s his team in full!
