Great news: Napoli name affordable Jorginho price-tag

Napoli will sell Brazilian born Italian international Jorginho this summer, provided a potential suitor stumps up €67m… or £59m.

That seems a lot, but Liverpool recouped £142m for Coutinho in January and are flush with cash.

This is according to respected Italian publication Sport Il Mattino, who are convinced the Serie A club will listen to offers come the end of a season in which they could win the title.

Jorginho has been a key reason for their superb form and is rightly regarded as one of the best midfield controllers in Europe.

His agent Joao Santos thinks a deal is possible, although has admitted no offer from any English club has yet to arrive.

“We are focused on the championship and we hope Napoli can win the Scudetto. I do not know what will happen at the end of the season, if the contract is renewed or will be put on the market,” he said. “We will meet with the society and decide. For now, no official offer has arrived, there’s only foreign interests.”

Paul Joyce in the Times confirmed a few weeks back that the 26-year-old is Jurgen Klopp’s no.1 target for the no.6 role, although we’ll have competition for his services.

He’ll provide a fantastic base to our midfield, especially with Naby Keita arriving from Rb Leipzig.

The thought of Jorginho as a deep-lying playmaker, with Keita and the ever-improving Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain either side is very exciting!
