Sky explain why they’ve suspended Carragher

Sky Sports have officially suspended Jamie Carragher from duty.

The pundit, regarded by many as best in the country alongside Gary Neville, won’t be featuring on Monday Night Football this evening as a result.

A statement reads:

“Sky takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie’s actions, we have made that clear to him in person today and suspended him from his duties.

“It falls well below the standards we expect of our people.”

As we all know by now, the former Liverpool defender spat on a Manchester United fan’s car, which inadvertently hit a 14-year-old girl.

We don’t know, at this stage, if they’ll fire him permanently or give him a chance to resurrect his promising media career.

What he did was disgusting, but it was a mistake in the heat of the moment.

Should he lose his job for it? We don’t think so.

Sadly though, it’s a moment he’ll have to carry around for a very long time.
