Journalist Salah Montaser claimed in one of Egypt’s biggest newspapers, state-run Al-Ahram, that Mo Salah should shave off his beard as it currently, “puts him in one basket with extremists … and terrorists.”

Salah is one of the most popular people in Egypt and the most famous sportsman, having secured them World Cup Qualification for the first time since 1990 almost single-handedly.
As a result, there’s been outrage amongst his fans and the journalist has quite rightly come under significant criticism.
How can somebody who’s so overtly positive and represents Egypt in such a brilliant manner be disrespected like this?
Baffling.
In more positive news about our 32-goal winger, he’s recently been named the player whose value has risen the most in Europe this season.
BBC Sport state Salah is now worth £144.3m, £66m more than he was worth six months ago.
Not that we’d consider selling him for that sum, though.
If Real Madrid want our brilliant attacker, they’ll have to double that offer and then watch us reject it anyway!
