Geoff Shreeves launched to the defence of Jamie Carragher last night, when Gary Lineker tried to joke about the current situation.
Sky Sports have suspended Carra for spitting out of his car at another road user, which inadvertently hit a 14-year-old girl – and he therefore didn’t feature on Monday Night Football.

Stoke were hosting Manchester City, and Lineker made the very obvious joke just before kick-off.
We think it was actually quite harmless, but Sky Sports reporter Shreeves took exception, as you can see below.

In fairness, Carra followed up the message with this tweet – which is probably fair – all in all.
On a serious note, we all make mistakes, @Carra23 made a big one. He’s apologised and is clearly contrite. Sure he’ll be back soon and rightly so.

Hopefully Carra’s apologises will be accepted by his employers, as they have been by the family – and everyone we can move on.
He’s too good at his job to lose it over one stupid mistake.
