Jamie Carragher will not appear on Sky Sports again this season, it’s been confirmed.
Sky News shared the news this morning, along with this statement:
“Following an internal review, Sky has suspended Jamie Carragher for the remainder of the football season.
“Jamie has taken full responsibility for what has happened and we will ensure he gets the help he needs to guarantee something like this never happens again.
“Before the start of the next season we will sit down with Jamie to discuss whether he is ready to return to his role.”
With the furore this incident caused, this is probably a smart decision from Sky, as in the interviews Carra has given to apologise, he seems in a very emotional, remorseful place.

We really hope he takes the time away and returns better than ever, as he’s the best football pundit in the country.
There’s no point in discussing the incident again, as everyone knows what happened on Saturday evening.
Carra though has not blamed the man who filmed him and has actually asked fans to leave him alone – with death threats being sent to the idiot United supporter who instigated the incident.

Following a World Cup summer, hopefully there will be enough water under the bridge for Carra to return to his former glory.
The mistake will follow him around for a long time though, and that’s something he’ll have to live with.
