(Video) Naby Keita teases Reds with goal & assist v Bayern Munich

So much for Naby Keita have endured a dip in form this season.

The Guinean has issued yet another teasing early reminder of his talent with a dominant display in RB Leipzig’s 2-1 win over Bayern Munich.

Having fired in a first-half equaliser for the hosts, Keita was at hand to turn provider for Timo Werner’s clinical second-half winner.

Both incidents staged Keita’s familiar attacking ambition, that still somehow seems to go overlooked in observations obsessed with the idea of him being a holding midfielder. He is far from it.

The result marked Bayern’s first defeat in 19 games across all competitions and took sixth-placed Leipzig to within two points of fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt in their fight for Champions League qualification.

Keita is scheduled to join Liverpool on the first day of July having agreed a deal in principle during the summer transfer window.

Following a stunning 2016/2017 campaign, Keita has since come under slight criticism for a lack of consistency. Disciplinary issues for club and country at the beginning of the season also fuelled queries over his mindset.

That said, Sunday’s strike means he has now levelled his goals tally from last season – quashing suggestions of a disappointing individual season.

With Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Watford still fresh in the memory, Reds can be forgiven for already relishing the thought of Keita plying his trade behind Jurgen Klopp’s fearsome front three.
