Telegraph boldly publish brilliant Mo Salah news for LFC fans

Respected Liverpool correspondent Chris Bascombe has claimed, unequivocally, that Mo Salah will not be sold this summer ‘under any circumstances’.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG have made tentative enquiries, but the journalist states in the Telegraph that Liverpool are under no pressure to sell thanks to our superb financial situation.

We’ve already made £50m for qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals and are still sitting on the £142m we banked after selling Coutinho in January.

Spanish clubs have pillaged our best talent over the past decade, but according to Bascombe, it’s not going to happen with Salah – at least in 2018 – anyway.

“The long-term aim of owners Fenway Sports Group, and manager Jurgen Klopp, is to ensure Liverpool is an ultimate destination for players rather than a stepping-stone club. Liverpool’s footballing and financial situation in recent times made that impossible in recent years, but the club’s Champions League progress this season demonstrates how they are gradually making their way back to the level of the greatest European clubs,” he said.

Of course, we heard similar noises from Liverpool correspondents at the start of last summer – with most fans wholly disappointed at the end of it by the fact we hadn’t signed more players and were not interested in replacing Barca-bound Coutinho (who was also meant to stay ‘no matter what’).

Salah though doesn’t seem like the kind of player who will kick up an enormous fuss. He only arrived on Merseyside in June, remember, and has publicly stated how happy he is in the Premier League, especially under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance.

We hope he’ll be at Anfield for years to come!
