Mohamed Salah is set to hand Liverpool a major lift by rebuffing any interest from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The Egyptian’s prolific form in his first campaign back in England since signing from Roma has already fuelled rumours of a possible switch to the Bernabéu.

Salah’s 36 goals across all competitions have put hm in strong contention for the Golden Shoe, and catapulted him to within conversation as one of world football’s top performing players at this present time.

If Real Madrid do come calling, the forward will reject their pursuit in favour of staying put on Merseyside, according to the Mirror.

It has also been reported that Liverpool are preparing to offer Salah an improved deal worth £200,000-a-week, which would make him one of the top earners at the club.

Salah’s strike partners Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are also in line for lucrative new deals as a reward for their sparkling season at the tip of Jurgen Klopp’s attack.

It is the club’s top scorer, however, that is perhaps the more pressing concern in regards to tying down for the foreseeable future.

Liverpool’s inspired summer-signing recently distanced himself from Harry Kane by four goals as the Premier League’s leading scorer thanks to his devastating performance in the win 5-0 win over Watford.

Having arrived back in English football with doubts looming over him, he has since persisted to defy expectations and assert himself as a leading contender for the Player of the Season award.

Keeping him at the club is crucial in Liverpool’s bid to begin lifting silverware again.
