Fernandinho has made a ridiculous comment about Liverpool

Manchester City’s battling midfielder Fernandinho has oddly described Liverpool as a long ball side ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League tie.

The Citizens host Jurgen Klopp’s vibrant Reds at the Etihad, three goals down following our rampant first leg performance at Anfield.

In the first half an hour, Liverpool blitzed City and went 3-0 up, before defending resolutely in the second-half to keep our opponents out.

We’re not sure Fernandinho really understands Klopp’s footballing philosophy, mind…

“They are a team that like to play long balls,” he told the Mirror. “They try to keep the players around the middle.”

Liverpool occasionally unleash Mo Salah and Sadio Mane out wide with long passes, but to declare us a long ball side when we don’t even use a traditional centre-forward is madness!

Klopp’s side plays quick passes and is universally acclaimed for an exciting style.

Having said that, we don’t really care what type of football Liverpool play tomorrow, so long as we progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

Despite the 3-0 lead, it’s going to take a monumental effort to qualify.
