Dybala and Serie A wonderkid linked to Liverpool – Guardian Roundup

Two Serie A stars are being linked to Liverpool today.

One, is Juventus’s sensational attacking midfielder Paulo Dybala, who’s being mooted as a £90m Coutinho replacement.

The second is Federico Chiesa, Fiorentina’s very highly-rated 20-year-old, who can play anywhere across the frontline.

The Guardian cite both stories in their transfer roundup, the first of which comes from Italian outlet Sport Mediaset and the second from talkSPORT, who quote Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli claiming he ‘doesn’t know’ if Chiesa will be sold.

So where do we begin…?

Dybala is considered a world-class talent, although he so far has failed to turn up on the biggest occasion. We’d obviously take him at Anfield, although would be surprised if Klopp sanctioned a deal as his position/style doesn’t necessarily automatically fit the team’s.

We play 4-3-3 and Dybala is an offensive no.10, rather than a creative no.8, like Coutinho was before his exit in January.

Chiesa would be suitable backup for either Sadio Mane or Mo Salah, though.

Currently, we don’t have quick inside forwards when either of our African superstars are unavailable, and it showed against Everton on Saturday.

Whether our interest is genuine, time will tell.
