LFC rocked as Klopp shares horrible injury news… Star unlikely to ever play for us again

Jurgen Klopp has told Sky Germany that Emre Can’s season is over.

The 24-year-old midfielder is currently sidelined with a back injury, but the hope was that he’d return to the field for the business end of Liverpool’s campaign.

Klopp though has now ruled this out, meaning our central midfield options are very, very thin.

Adam Lallana is also injured, likely until the summer, meaning we have Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gini Wijnaldum competing for three positions.

Joel Matip has played as a no.6 before, but he’s also out for the season.

Can has likely played his last game for Liverpool.

The German’s contract expires this summer and he’s shown no sign of extending Anfield terms.

Why he wants to get off the train that Klopp is driving towards success, we’re not quite sure – but it’s Can’s prerogative.

In fairness, he’s given his all on the pitch, and as long as he doesn’t join one of our Premier League rivals, we can cope with his exit.
