The pundits on Bt Sport last night waxed lyrical about Trent Alexander-Arnold, and rightly so.
Our teenage right-back put in another superb performance, as he did last week in the first-leg, helping Liverpool overcome Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate.

Steven Gerrard named Alexander-Arnold the most impressive performer over the two legs, while Rio Ferdinand said he should be considered for Gareth Southgate’s upcoming England World Cup squad.
“If you came to this game not knowing who they were, who looks the better right-back on those performances? Trent…” said the former Manchester United defender when comparing our teenager to England’s current starting right-back, Kyle Walker.
We’re all the happier with his showing because as Ferdinand suggests, Trent struggled at Old Trafford and Selhurst Park recently – so to bounce back to such an extent aged 19 is truly remarkable.
