Kevin De Bruyne makes humble Mo Salah admission

Kevin De Bruyne has tipped Mohamed Salah to beat him to the PFA Player of the Year award thanks to his remarkable scoring form.

The Egyptian scored in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday to move onto 40 goals across all competitions for the season.

His expertly-cushioned header also marked his 30th in the Premier League, increasing his lead over Tottenham’s Harry Kane as the division’s leading scorer by five.

Recent months have seen Salah and De Bruyne surface as the leading candidates for the accolade, with the latter having played an influential role in Manchester City’s title-winning campaign.

“I think if you can choose nobody from our team, I think he deserves it,” De Bruyne told NBC Sports.

“Probably he’s going to win it anyway. He’s been remarkable and to compete with someone that’s scored that many goals, you’re not going to win.”

“I’m very satisfied with my performance this year, with the team.”

Both men arguably represent worthy winners of the award having spearheaded two of Europe’s most deadly attacking forces and produced the individual statistics as evidence.
De Bruyne has been untouchable throughout the season, boasting an relatively unrivalled vision and execution on his way towards 15 assists in the league.
The pair have also combined in tormenting Chelsea over the world class talent they let slip when allowing them to leave the club in previous seasons.
For the sheer element of surprise to Salah’s prolific form, his incredible consistency and the ease at which he has fit into Jurgen Klopp’s setup, there is only one winner for us.
The forward will have one eye on a chance to make history as he looks to close the gap on Ian Rush’s 47-goal 1983/1984 season.
