LFC linked with 28-year-old as Mignolet replacement

Spanish reports reckon Jasper Cilessen could swap a place on Barcelona’s bench for a place on ours…

The Dutchman is very much backup to world-class German Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Mundo Deportivo [translated by Sport Witness] have name-dropped Liverpool as a potential destination.

They claim that Napoli and Atletico Madrid are also interested, but also suggest that Cilessen has been promised our no.1 spot, which we flatly know to be untrue.

Loris Karius has done excellently since winning a spot in the team, and it’s for this reason we’ve cooled our attention on AS Roma stopper Alisson.

We will need to replace Simon Mignolet, whose five years at the club have surely come to an end, however.

The Belgian is not getting any minutes and will need a new challenge in 2018/19.

As a result, we need a keeper happy to warm the bench, unless Jurgen Klopp changes his mind and secures an elite stopper instead.
