Congratulations Trent Alexander-Arnold…

The 19-year-old is now on £40k/week, after triggering a clause in his contract that stipulated his wage would rise once he made his 30th Liverpool start, writes Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph.

Trent’s now played 39 times for Liverpool in total, and is an outside bet to go to the World Cup as Kyle Walker’s understudy.

If he does win an England cap, he’ll get a salary boost again!

The youngster endured two tricky games away to Manchester United and Crystal Palace recently, but bounced back in terrific style versus Manchester City in the Champions League, pocketing Leroy Sane in both legs.

He backed those stellar outings up with a Man of the Match performance against Bournemouth at the weekend, which all but cements his spot as our first-choice right-back until the end of the season.

Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez are both currently injured, but will still be needed as Jurgen Klopp looks to rest players ahead of the semi-final legs with AS Roma.

It’s great that we’ve got three solid options in a position that has previously caused us problems – and the terrific Andy Robertson on the other side.
